Cấu trúc 1: Suggest + V-ing

Công thức này được dùng khi nhắc đến một hành động nhưng không nói cụ thể ai sẽ làm hành động đó.

Công thức: S + suggest(s/ed) + V-ing

Ví dụ:

• I suggest going to the park this afternoon. (Tôi gợi ý đi công viên chiều nay.)
• She suggested going to the movies tonight. (Cô ấy gợi ý đi xem phim tối nay.)

Khi nào dùng? Khi đưa ra lời gợi ý chung cho cả nhóm hoặc không cần chỉ rõ ai thực hiện hành động.

Cấu trúc 2: Suggest + that + S + V (bare infinitive)

Cấu trúc này được dùng khi người nói muốn đề xuất rằng ai đó nên làm gì. Động từ trong mệnh đề “that” được giữ ở dạng nguyên mẫu không “to”.

Công thức: S + suggest(s/ed) + that + S + V (nguyên mẫu)

Hoặc có thể dùng: S + suggest(s/ed) + that + S + should + V

Lưu ý quan trọng:

• Động từ trong mệnh đề “that” luôn ở dạng nguyên mẫu không “to” (bare infinitive) – không chia theo chủ ngữ.
• Trong những tình huống không trang trọng, ta hoàn toàn có thể bỏ “that” ra khỏi mệnh đề.

Cấu trúc 3: Suggest + Danh từ / Cụm danh từ

Sử dụng khi muốn đề xuất một vật hoặc một người nào đó cho một mục đích cụ thể.

Công thức: S + suggest(s/ed) + Noun / Noun Phrase

Lỗi 1: Dùng “to-infinitive” sau suggest
